The Movement Clinic also offers a variety of other health and wellbeing services, including:
Sports massage involves a variety of techniques used to help relieve stress and tension - which builds up in the body’s soft tissue system - while preventing those niggling injuries.
Whether you’re an athlete, have a physically demanding lifestyle or postural stresses, a sports massage can help restore functional pain free movement.
Acupuncture is a Chinese treatment that has become popular within Western medicine and rehabilitation.
Sharp, thin needles (pain free when inserted) are used at specific points to adjust and alter the body's energy flow (Qi) along the meridian systems. We use acupuncture for pain relief and to encourage healing.
Antenatal. Growing a baby is a wonderful and exciting time! Unfortunately not all women have a smooth pregnancy journey. Some can experience pelvic girdle pain, sacro-illiac pain, symphysis pubis and lower back pain.
Physiotherapy can treat these conditions and help relieve pain, making pregnancy more comfortable and enjoyable. Antenatal pilates is an effective and safe way to stay fit, strengthen your pelvic floor and prepare your body for birth.
Postnatal. You’ve done it, congratulations! After childbirth some women experience diastasis recti, loss of pelvic floor recruitment and lower back pain, which physiotherapy and pilates can help address.
We can assess and teach you how to effectively recruit your pelvic floor and core in a safe way, helping you get back to your pre-baby body. As a mother of two Victoria understands the challenge of getting somewhere with a new arrival which is why we provide a mobile service allowing you and baby to be relaxed in your own home or to come along to our baby-friendly home studio.
Pregnancy Loss and recovery. Losing a baby through stillbirth or neonatal death is a trauma that reaches far beyond the physical body. Alongside overwhelming grief, women experience the same profound hormonal shifts, abdominal changes, pelvic floor weakness and postural adaptations as any postnatal mother — often without the baby in their arms.
This specialist class provides a safe, compassionate and clinically guided space for women navigating life after loss. We gently address the major physical changes following pregnancy — including diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction, breast changes, core weakness and fatigue — while recognising the emotional trauma that can live within the body.
Led by a trauma-informed physiotherapist, sessions focus on restoring strength and rebuilding trust in your body. Just as importantly, this is a peer-supported environment where women can move and heal alongside others who truly understand.
Perimenopause and Menopause. Providing support and advice to manage and navigate changing hormones, other symptoms, as well as treatment options available to empower you through perimenopause and menopause.
The Movement Clinic will also hold educational events for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause comprising a physio, nutritionist and GP.
Breast Cancer Recovery Pilates. Whether lumpectomy, mastectomy or reconstruction — can significantly affect shoulder mobility, posture, strength and lymphatic function. Scar tissue, protective movement patterns and post-operative pain often limit range of motion and impact daily life.
At the Movement Clinic this class is designed specifically for women post breast cancer surgery. We focus on gently restoring shoulder mobility, improving thoracic extension, rebuilding upper body strength and supporting lymphatic flow in a safe and progressive way.
Sessions are clinically led, ensuring exercises are appropriate for each stage of recovery. Beyond the physical benefits, the class provides a supportive community where women can rebuild confidence in their bodies and move forward with strength.
Prostate Cancer Strength & Conditioning. Hormone therapy for prostate cancer can lead to significant muscle loss, increased body fat, fatigue, reduced bone density and a loss of physical confidence. Many men feel frustrated by changes in strength and identity during and after treatment.
This targeted strength and conditioning class is designed to counteract the effects of hormone therapy. Using progressive resistance training, weight-bearing exercises and cardiovascular conditioning. We aim to rebuild lean muscle mass, improve metabolic health and support bone strength.
Clinically supervised and individually adapted, sessions provide a structured and supportive environment where men can regain physical capability — and with it, renewed confidence.
Home Education Strength & Conditioning. Designed for home-educated children and teenagers, this strength and conditioning class teaches correct gym technique in a fun, structured, social and supportive setting.
We focus on teaching safe lifting mechanics, bodyweight control, coordination and age-appropriate strength development. Sessions are carefully coached to ensure good movement habits from an early age, reducing injury risk and building physical literacy for life.
Health resets. This consists of a six week programme that takes a holistic approach to general health, focusing on strength training, weight loss or gain, while teaching you how to take a whole person approach to reset your health and circadian rhythm (sleep, diet, exercise, hormones, mindfulness etc).
Girls in sport. The Movement Clinic is passionate about ensuring sport is open, available and accessible to all women and girls. Almost 1 in 3 girls drop out of sports during puberty often because they don’t feel they’re good enough or are not encouraged to keep playing.
Educational sessions on girls in sport are targeted towards sports clubs, coaches and players with the aim of providing information on how hormones effect female performance, tools including period trackers, common female adolescent injuries and how to manage them.
